When you think of a hotspot, you wouldn’t immediately think of a food chain or take-away restaurant. However, Wasabi was one of my (Hunter Niels) favourite places to go, back in my London days, so I think it deserves a spot on the list. Wasabi is a Japanese take-out restaurant, which is based throughout the whole city of London. They have delicious sushi. You can order anything from complete menu’s to just single pieces of sushi. Besides sushi they offer hot dishes as well, like noodles and chicken with fried rice. Funny fact Wasabi became the first company in the UK to sell individually wrapped pieces of sushi. They opened the first Wasabi restaurant in 2003 and made the Japanese cuisine very accessible by offering these individually wrapped pieces of sushi. With a bright, clean, modern Japanese style, Wasabi presented a new lunchtime alternative. The sushi, sashimi, California rolls and authentic Japanese dishes proved immediately popular with the hungry Londoners searching for something new, different and healthy. Well, this former London boy used to be hooked on Wasabi. To be honest, I am not a big fan of take-out food, the only take-out I eat is sushi. And Wasabi is perfect for that. You don’t have to wait around untill they make the sushi for you, it’s just like a supermarket! You walk in, grab your favorite sushi and pay at the cashier. I especially used to adore Wasabi on sunny days. There’s nothing better than going for a walk in the city or meeting up with friends in the park, getting your tan on, having a good time and meanwhile picking at some sushi. Those were the days!
