Valentin Yudashkin, Fall/Winter 2012
Valentin Yudashkin, we were excited about this show, since we went with an open vision. We didn’t know what to expect. The show was hosted in the Wesmin hotel. A beautiful and romantic locations with huge candeliers. The setting was very baroque and elegant and so was the show. Valentin was inspired by the fashion trends of the 90s.
The first model opened the show in a long evening dress. Very feminine, dramatic and romantic. Classical cuts with decorative elements. The designs are multi-textured, leather, velvet and lace were shown. In our opinion the collection is really romantic, because of the silk materials and the material lace, which was used mainly in the sleeves of the dresses. The length of the dresses ensured the dramatic look. The combination of the materials, like transparent fabrics in combination with leather and fur, plastic with wool jersey made the collection really special.
What we didn’t saw before at any designers was the use of fur in stripes on front of the garments as well as in shoulder pads. The new way of using fur, is something we see more often lately in the collections. Like the complete fur dresses at we saw at Marni and the fur patchwork at Valentino. We were happily surprised and will keep an eye on this designer.
