What words pop up in your mind when you read the title of this post? Crystal, stones, fine jewelry, diamonds and crystal figurines? These are the words used to describe Swarovski. Some people even think all products made of Swarovski elements belong to the brand Swarovski. I’ll tell you something about the true story. In 1895 Daniel Swarovski moved to Tirol. Where he established a crystal cutting factory. The beginning of a revolution in the fashion industry. Swarovski has become the world’s leading producer of precision crystal slept for fashion, jewelry and more recently lighting, architecture and interiors. I know the brand quite well. My boyfriend gifted me a ring a few years ago, and I still love it. It’s striking but classic. But I didn’t know there were so many collections. Last week I was invited by Swarovski to discover The Fall/ Winter 2012-13 fashion accessories and the first men’s watch collection. The collection Kingdom of jewels is inspired by electronic rock and visual art. A combination of history and on the other hand a modern and young, trendy woman. Giant, sturdy, cool and striking rings, necklaces, bracelets and accessoires. Shiny crystals combined with matte materials which provide the alternative look. Particular colour combinations, ruby red and emerald green. Gold, silver and polished steel provide the medieval but classic and trendy look. I have to admit I personally don’t like jewelry set with too many crystals. I was happily surprised and really enthusiastic after seeing this collection. The giant choker necklace, the striking bracelets and the popping rings with the big crystals were my favorites. I do like these type of crystallized jewelry and can’t wait to rock this collection.
