Style Icon Lana Del Rey
Lana Del Ray was born by the name Elizabeth Woolridge Grant on June 21, 1986 in New York City. You might know this American singer/songwriter from the demo of the song Video Games which she published on YouTube. The response was amazing and Lana signed a major label recording contract with Interscope Records. Next to this contract, Lana signed in 2012 a contract with NEXT Model Management. Lana is booming!
When it comes to singers/songwriters I’m bad. I love music, but I’m bad at remembering names. Of Course I know the song Video Games, I actually really like that song but when I hear the name Lana del Ray I think of Mulberry. The British brand released a bag inspired by Lana Del Rey. “The Del Rey” bag. A modern classic, practical, refined and timeless bag. A description that fits her amazing voice and personal style. I think of her Vogue cover debut on the March issue and H&M’s new autumn campaign.
H&M was looking for a style icon and singer to model. The theme of the campaign is a modern and feminine woman with a soft attitude. Curves and waist are important in autumn’s silhouette. Lana Del Rey was the perfect choice. In my opinion her style is like her voice, unexpected.
I really like the fact her style is unpredictable. She’s a hipster but on the other hand a femme fatal. Boho sex appeal, glamour of the 60’s but with a twist. I love the variety of styles. From a leather pants and a sturdy bicker jacket to a classic little black dress. She turns a innocent Brigtitte Bardot look with the touch of super high heel into a ultra feminine and sexy look. From Hollywood romantic to rocking retro. This girl’s got personality. Check out the moodboard I created on Pinterest, to get to know Lana better.
