Style icon, Ed Westwick
If you look the preppy and dandy look, you are good with Ed Westwick. When you think of Ed, you immidiately think of Gossip Girl. In Gossip Girl Ed Westwick is the character Chuck Bass. The ultimate rich kid and bad boy. The fortune he owns in the show, is visible in the way he dresses. Three-pieces suits, neckerchiefs, coloured tie’s, bold socks, checked scarfs, overcoats and slick hair to finish up the look. What I like about the styling of the character Chuck Bass is the surprise factor. He always looks extremely smart, but when you look closer you will see a fun detail. Mostly in the use of colour. Almost in each look he is wearing something colourful or with print. A plain black/grey/blue suit, but combining it with a lose shirt and neckerchief, a colourful tie or a bold pocket square is the perfect finishing touch. You could say Chuck Bass is the king of details when it comes to styling. Whether it is a complete suit, a tie, or a scarf you always see bright colour coming back. And to be honest, his bedroom eyes make it also fun to watch this guy. I remember I met Ed once at a party in London. A few days later he passed me by in a taxi when I (Hunter Niels) was walking around in Sloane street. I saw his breath-taking eyes looking at me and gave me a little wink. A moment I won’t forget easily.
However next to his character in the show Ed Westwick likes to go for a more formal and rock look in daily life. Printed shirt, leather jackets, hoodies, and aviator sunglasses. This is probably why he is the face of Philipp Plein at the moment. This label is the perfect combination of the bad-ass side of Ed Westwicks character and his personal rock-ish style in daily life. Ed Westwick is the perfect guy to check out of you need some styling inspiration.
