SS14 NYFW Highlights
Monday night I will arrive in NYC. Which means I will mis most of the shows. However here are some highlights I found on the web so far from the New York Fashion Week.
One of the shows I was looking most forward to see is Alexander Wang. For his SS14 show mr. Wang worked with lots of laser-cut leather. The most hyped model and look was Georgia May Jagger with the Parentel Advisory sweater. Mr. Wang proved himself again, curious what he will bring for Balenciaga this season.
Another rising star from New York Fashion Week is Prabal Gurung. He frequently dressed Michelle Obama, Sarah Jessica Parker, Mila Kunus and many other celebrities. This year Prabal Gurung collaborated with Target. So when you’re wallet doesn’t allow you to get his own pieces, this is a perfect substitute. For SS14 mr. Gurung showed what he is good at: prints, colors and modern silhouettes.
Lacoste continued with the pyjama trend. However my personal favorite look was this one, with the beautiful pink coat.
Helmut Lang is one of the other NYC based designers who has the typical NYC look: Sporty, chic and minimalistic. Most looks of his SS14 are black and white, however in some looks geometric hot pink prints were used.
Rag and Bone went for more soft pink. I chose this look because of the super chic shiny sweatpants.
My favorite show stopper so far was Karlie Kloss in Jason Wu. The modern top part of the dress, in combination with the romantic skirt, and Karlie’s signature walk were breath taking.
