Sir Albert Hotel – Amsterdam
In a former diamond grindery in Amsterdam a new boutique hotel opened it doors this week. The hotel is named Sir Albert and is located in the ‘Pijp’ neighborhood. A very lively area of the city of Amsterdam, popular for youngsters, and with many restaurants and bars around the corner. Moreover it’s on a walking distance of many touristic hotspots like the Albert Cuyp market (same street), the Rijksmuseum and the Stedelijk Museum. The hotel consists of 90 rooms and suits in total.
Sir Albert Hotel is a luxurious boutique hotel which brings design and history together. Sir Albert stands for an Aristocratic guy, who loves to travel, to be unique and a hedonist. All these things come together in the hotel. On the one hand it’s very modern, with the high windows, the black and white entrance, and the chocolate colored hallways to the hotel rooms. However personal touches like the library, the pop art in combination with the more classic decoration gives the hotel character. The rooms are not too big (which is no surprise in middle of the city), however the high sealing gives the room more space. The suits are a bit larger and have a bath as well. Prices of standard rooms start at €199,-, and suits at €349,-. Price quality is very reasonable, knowing the location and quality of the rooms. Funny fact Sir Albert makes use of sustainable products and energy. They proof sustainability and luxury could go together.
