Rose’s Cantina – Amsterdam
In Amsterdam and looking for a place to eat? Want to eat delicious Mexican food? Want to have the best Margarita’s in town? Went to the movies and looking for a quick bite or a trendy place for a drink? Want to go out to a gay bar later? We found the perfect bar & restaurant: Rose’s Cantina. Rose’s Cantina is located on the Reguliersdwarsstraat, street known for the gay bars in central Amsterdam. The restaurant has been there for decades, however got a little facelift about a year ago. Rose’s Cantina is transformed in a modern ‘Hacienda’. Amarald green walls, lighting bolls across the restaurant, dimmed light, and rural accessories against the wall as decoration to embrace the Mexican Hacienda feeling.
Delicious traditional Mexican food is served at Rose’s Cantina: Cevicha, nachos, chili con carne, enchiladas, taco’s and quesadillas are all on the menu. Hunters’ favorite were the Chili con Carne nachos, perfect accompanied with the home made margarita’s. At Rose’s Cantina they have a margarita del dia. Every day a different margarita. However of course they are also very skilled in the classics. Another dish Hunters would recommend is the Mexican street salad made of cabbage, carrots, mandarins and spicy pumpkin seeds, also a good dish to share. However the real favorite was the lobster a la pancha, half a lobster from the grill served with spring onions and a mango salsa.
Rose’s Cantina is a very lively place, perfect for a delicious and slightly spicy informal dinner. However if you want to go for a drink after the movies with a little snack on the side. Or for pre-drinks before you go (gay)clubbing, the Cantina of Rose’s is the place to be.
