Patron Lunares, Palma de Mallorca

A new restaurant opened its doors last week in Palma de Mallorca. Hunter Niels had the pleasure to be the first one to have dinner in this hotspot: Patron Lunares. Patron Lunares is located in a popular street on which many restaurants and bars are located in Santa Catalina. The founders of the restaurant opened the place in honour of there grand fathers who were all fisherman. The restaurant reminds you of a fishing boat, while staying modern. Fishing nets and world maps are the decoration of the restaurant. However most striking decoration are the images of the founders, fathers and grand fathers. All these paintings look like they are from the 17th century, but were especially made for the restaurant.

It wouldn’t surprise you that the most important dishes on the card are with fish. Oysters, grilled fish, salads you name it, they have it. However for the non-fish eaters they also have delicious steaks and other meat dishes on the menu. One of my favorite dishes was one of the appetizers, with the guacamole. You get a bowl with all the ingredients necessary for a good guacamole. It comes in a bowl, however unfinished. You need to do the mashing and mixing yourself. You can’t get any fresher guacamole than this.

For the sweet lovers there is an extended menu of typical Spanish desserts. From creme Catalana to chocolate. When in Mallorca you just can’t miss this place.
