The party jacket

Good fitting jackets are a must have in a men’s wardrobe. The basic jackets every men should have in the clouset are: a basic black one, a double breasted and a velvet blazer.  A velvet jacket is very chic, preppy and the perfect item for the New Year parties. Most of the times the colors of the jackets are very warm: plum, orange and navy. The shiny fabric is very elegant and make you look stand out in the crowd. However it might be an item that some of you do not know exactly how to wear. For the real dandy look, you should have a whole velvet suit, lace up shoes, a bow-tie and a pocket square. This is like how Lapo Elkann would wear it. For a little less dressed look, but still a formal event you could combine the velvet blazer with pants in a different, blocking color. Put a plain white shirt underneath, possibly a tie and you are ready for your social event. A style icon who would wear his blazer like this is David Gandy. For the casual look you could combine the velvet blazer with a pair of jeans, t-shirt and sneakers. This is more the way Jude Law would wear it. For the Jared Leto, rock and roll look, you should combine the blazer with a pair of leather pants and a scarf. Zara and River Island are high street brands which have good velvet blazers in stock. For the once with a little more money in the wallet: Drykorn, Dolce and Gabbana, YSL and Hugo Boss. So, now there is no more reason you shouldn’t have this jacket in your clouset. You’ve got enough tips on how to wear it, matching your personal style. Make me proud boys, and let me see those jackets more often.
