ON THE HUNT: PFW A/W 13 DAY 4
The fourth day of Paris Fashion Week was all about showroom visits. Starting with the showroom of Derek Lam and 10 Crosby Derek Lam. (Funny fact, Derek Lam was the assistant of Michael Kors in the 90’s). The collection of Derek Lam was from the first sight very lady like. With their iconic dresses and knitwear. However when mixing the pieces, especially with the leather items, you easily create a more ‘downtown’ look. We especially liked the patchwork leather tops and dresses from the Derek Lam autumn/winter 2013 collection.
Hunter Niels had to do a little bit of shopping in between the showroom appointments.
Second showroom visit was Paula Ka. One thing specifically catched our eye. The eye print, and the eye jewelry. We already saw this eye-print with in the autumn/winter 2013 collection of the Dutch designer sisters Spijkers & Spijkers. Moreover we saw this print at the Kenzo show, which showroom we were going to visit later the day as well. Besides the eye-print and jewelry Paula Ka showed a very divers collection. From more dressed up looks, to more urban and boyish.
After the blizzards, rain and freezing days during the fashion weeks the spring finally seemed to have start in Paris. Obviously we had to enjoy this for a bit on a terrace, with matching Burberry sunglasses.
Third showroom visit was the one of Kenzo Paris. It wouldn’t surprise you we are big fans of Kenzo. Last seasons the animal prints, and especially the tiger sweater were extremely popular. Next winter it’s going to be all about the eye sweater, and eye print. However the animal and jungle prints are still visible in the collection. Take for example the loafer shoe with the tiger print. We wish this shoe would also come for men. That would be the perfect Hunter match. But back to the collection a mix and match of bright colors and bold prints at Kenzo Paris. Just how we like it.
