N. on the Hunt in Vlieland
This week Hunter Niels was on the Hunt in Vlieland. The week was all about nature, wind and family.
Vlieland is a very quiet island, part of the Netherlands. Cars are not allowed on the island (only a few exceptions). A perfect place for a family get-a-way.
First evening we went for an easy dinner at the beach. Since we were with a lot of kids this was perfect. One of my cutest nephews is very concentrated in his cartoons.
After dinner I hit the bar with my uncle, parents and grandmum.
Very important with Easter: Breakfast.
Me and my parents on the way to the harbour.
Before we went on the boat we did a little walk over the beach.
The harbour of Vlieland.
We went on a boattrip to spot seals. Very beautiful, however I felt like I was on my way to Nova Zembla.
Yellow is so my colour!
And we did it! We spotted the seals. It was a huge group of hundreds of seals. Very special to see so many seals, so close, and in such a huge group. Some were only one meter away from our both. We were not allowed to go out the boat, so was little difficult to make a good snapshot.
After this adventure, and torture in the cold I went to the sauna (don’t have pictures of that). Before we went out for dinner we went for drinks at a (new) family members house. The house is so fresh in this bright blue colour. Although it is so bright it perfectly matches the beachy environment.
We had dinner at “Armhuis’. This was my favourite part of the family weekend. Delicious 4 courses dinner, refreshing wine and champagne, and time to chat with everybody (all the kids had a babysitter). When you are in Vlieland you have to visit Armhuis for dinner. Besides the food and drinks are great. However even more special is the traditional decoration, the warmth of the host and the architecture of the building.
After this weekend in the nature, I am a happy Hunter.
