Men’s A/W 13 Trend 1: Turtle Neck
The Lifestylehunters attended London and Milan Men’s Fashion Week. Many trends were seen on the runways, and of course on the street. Our biggest source of inspiration. The next coming days the Lifestylehunters will share the most important trends they spotted. The first trend is the turtle neck. A famous icon who was known for wearing turtle necks was Steve Jobs. However in Milan and London we saw a total different way of styling the comfortable sweater. In general we saw three different turtle necks and ways of styling them.
The first type of turtle neck is the big chunky version in a neutral grey or black color. Combined with classic pants, a leather jacket or an overcoat. A very masculine way of wearing the turtle neck. Designers Salvatore Ferragamo and Ermenegildo Zegna were showing this type of neck.
Another trend regarding the turtle neck is the bright colored. An interesting way of styling, underneath a jacket or suit. The Hunters spotted this trend at Vivienne Westwood and Hackett London.
The third ‘turtle neck’ trend was the most unexpected and surprising one. Especially the way of styling was interesting: wearing the turtle neck under a boatneck sweater. The type of turtle neck was slim, and not as chunky as the once we saw at the other shows and in a contrasting color to the other sweater you wear on top of the turtle neck. Costume National and Les Hommes showed this way of wearing the turtle neck.
