Marni Fall2012

This review about the Marni Fall2012 show consist of many pictures, because it was too difficult to make a selection of our favorite looks. If you followed us during our stay in Milan, you may have noticed in our diary we were so happy when we succeeded to attend the second show of Marni. Marni belongs in the list of our favorite brands. Marni really suits our style, we like the designs, the patterns, the use of color and the combinations. You can imagine we are very pleased with the collaboration with H&M.

All the exciting for the show, was more than worth it. Architecture, color-blocking, orientalism and a touch of the 60s were reflected in the Fall collection. Structured silhouettes, which were reinforced by the color-blocking effect in colors like red, camel and grey. Not only the colors were blocking in the looks, the materials like python, plaid and patent leather provided a high contrast block effect. The large square pockets on the jackets, the layers the knee-lenght skirts and the ankle trousers caused a solid look.

Next to the structured silhouettes, the distinctive Marni prints passed the runway. These prints were inspired by the orientalism. In our opinion, the prints were less present this collection. What we really liked about the collection is the color-blocking effect regarding the combination of materials. For example patent leather and fur like the jacket which is next to the jacket with layers of fur one of the Hunters favorite.
