Les Copains, FW2012
The first show the Hunters attended during Milan Fashion Week was Les Copains. Truth needs to be said, we try to be the fashion experts, but we didn’t knew the label before. That doesn’t mean we were less excited. It was the first show for us in Milan, so a big adrenaline rush was running into us. You have to understand, that unlike New York and London the shows in Milan are throughout the whole city. After a little research we discovered how to reach the location were the show was organized. To make a good first impression in Milan we glammed up our looks for the first day. Golden details combined with pastel shades seemed to be the perfect combination for the first glamorous day in Milan. In the beginning we felt a little bit uncomfortable in between all the black ensembles, however while seated frontrow Hunter Niels got a massive compliment. An Italian editor texted during the show that he was very much impressed by our looks and loved the fact that we brought a ‘Milanese Summer Vibe’ to the city. The second compliment was that he loved Hunter Niels his legs (he was wearing short shorts).
Les Copains 2012 collection, designed by Allessandro Dell’Acqua was inspired by Lisa Fonssagrives Penn, the muse of some of the top master photographers (Like Richard Avedon, Man Ray and Irving Penn) frames a couture symbiosis between materials and style, enhancing elegance and sensuality. The way we saw this in the collection was the mixture of more masculine materials like knitwear combined with feminine fabrics like plissé. Another way we saw this mixture was in the skirts made from fur. Fur is obviously a heavy material, however they sewn it on plissé which made it look very light and fresh.
The complete collection was very ‘Linda’. Super lightweight alpaca for the almost transparent pullover to be worn of a micro cardigan. The jersey takes on a felt look when over a rib knit dress, al laser cut with picot finishing. The combination of masculine pieces with super feminine is exactly the style of Linda. Moreover we loved the stilleto heels worn underneath the ensembles. Super thin and high heels with swarovski stones. A good start of Milan Fashion Week.
