Laid back in Sneakers

Thanks to designers like Stella McCartney, Lacoste, Avelon and Alexander Wang sporty is becoming more fashion each season. What brings all the designers together is not only the sporty part, but also how they make sporty look chic and edgy. Part of this trend is also the sneaker with an inner-wedge which Isabel Marant came up with. It’s sporty, but thanks to the inner-wedge just a little bit more feminine. And that’s just the difficulty with sneakers. How you style your sneakers? How to wear your sneakers, while still look chic and edgy.

The Hunters have loads of sneakers in the closet: Fretons, Converse, Reebok, Vans, Palladium, Date, Puma and New Balance. We love wearing sneakers. They are easy and super comfortable. To avoid a too sporty look, you have to make sure you choose the right items to combine them with. Our tip is to wear the sneakers in combination with at least one classic item. For ladies a feminine item like a skirt, blouse or a chic jacket. Combine it for example with a lace or sequent fabric. And for men to combine with a blazer, shirt & bow-tie or a dress-up-pants. In this way is actually is possible to combine the sneaker in 1000 different ways and suitable for many different occasions. It’s even possible to wear them to work. Not all sneakers are suitable for work, but nowadays there are many sneakers which are sporty/chic. For example the Fretons, the new sneakers from Fred de la Bretonière. The sneakers are sportive, cool and trendy but on the other hand classic and office proof because of the leather and suede material. We wear the black Fretons underneath classic black trousers, in combination with a jeans blouse and a classic jacket. Hunter Linda even wore them in combination with a black high waisted skirt and a woolen sweater. So yes for sporty, but challenge yourself and style them as chic as possible.
