L on the Hunt: Madrid, C&A and Design
Eight designers, 200 plastic cups, plates, forks, knives and spoons, eight different European countries and 20 bloggers. Last week I spend 2 days in Madrid to join the C&A reimagine Design Challenge.
Actually quite cute, my blogger equipment is matching pink.
After a very smooth trip, I arrived in hotel Puerta de América. The Puerta de América is one of the high-concept hotels in Madrid. The hotel is an innovative project that involved numerous artists, architects and designers working together in developing something unseen before. Each level is differentiated from the next and its design is signed by world-renowned names. Each of the 12 floors represents design in a unique way. My room was located on the fourth floor.
The Reimagine press kit. I was super excited to meet the designers, the C&A staff, the bloggers and to get to know more about this exciting project.
Happy to be reunited with Txema, one of the bloggers who participated this event.
After a warm welcome by C&A, we’ve got the opportunity to get to know each other better.
After a delicious lunch catered by Sergi Arola, it was time to meet the designers by speed dating. A fun, interactive way to get to know the designers better, to see their work, to ask questions about the reimagine project. It was very interesting to hear their stories, inspiration and to hear their vision of fashion and design.
After the speed dating sessions, we were invited to the ‘drive and date experience’. Pauline van Dongen (Dutch Designer) chose the Museum of Contemporary Art Reina Sofia for her experience. An interesting experience, beautiful art.
The evening programme consisted of dinner at Restaurant Teatriz and cocktails in the hotel bar. After a delicious three course meal, a few glasses of champagne and a Cointreaupolitan Cocktail I was happy to close my eyes.
The second day, the next morning. I decided to take it slow, I started with taking a bath in this high tech super designed bathe tube.
After breakfast it was time to explore Madrid. Romantic streets, interesting architecture, Gaudi
I also had to bring some Spanish food as a present for my BF. I had a lovely time. More about the C&A Reimagine project will follow soon!
