Kaffee Mitte, Berlin
Last week Hunter Linda visited Berlin for 3 days to celebrate the b-day of her boyfriend. If you follow Lifestylehunters you might have seen the The L on the hunt in Berlin post? I visited Berlin once before and I liked it very much. It was one year and a half ago in November. It was snowing and the temperatures were around freezing. It was actually too cold to be out walking down the streets. During that trip I discovered Berlin is a great city for dining out, with a big selection of restaurants to to suit every wallet. Eating out in Berlin is incredibly cheap compared to other Western European capitals and even other German cities. There are also so many nice spots in Berlin for coffee and drinks. Cafes are really popular in Berlin. They serve breakfast in the morning, lunch in the afternoon and drinks at night. Ordering kaffee and kuchen in the afternoon seems to be a ritual for the German. One of the best places in Berlin for Coffee is Kaffee Mitte. Kaffee Mitte is located right in the heart of the historic Mitte district. When the weather is good, you can sit at the terrace and watch the cool German peeps passing by. I always managed to find a spot at the window, so I can absorb the great atmosphere of the cafe as well. The menu consists off Italian products and traditional food. The Italian coffee is prepared by trained baristas. The big coffee bar is located in the middle of the cafe, to create that real Italian feeling of grabbing a coffee at the bar. Besides the espresso’s, cappuccino’s and latte macchiato’s the food is amazing. It was hard to make a decision between the cakes and the sandwiches. After deliberating for half an hour I chose a warm ciabatta with mozzarella, tomato, parmesan cheese and rucola, which was delicious. If you’re in Berlin you must grab a coffee at Kaffee Mitte.
