It takes two
Rodarte (for the layman, who are following lifestylehunters) is an American brand of clothing and accessories founded by the 2 sisters Kate and Laura Mulleavy. They graduated from Aptos, and received many industry awards since the line’s inception in 2005. Last season the sisters created a lower priced and more everyday collection for the store concept Opening Ceremony. Opening Ceremony is a multifaceted environment comprised of retail spaces, showroom, and gallery that establishes a new international creative forum. Opening Ceremony brings together emerging American talent with both young and established designers and artists from abroad. Because of the great success Kate and Laura designed a collection for Fall 2011. Inspired by Scandinavia, the second collection is like we’re used from Rodarte, beautiful. The collection consists of warm jackets, deep shades and a lot of prints. The Hunters love the second collaboration with Opening Ceremony because now it’s more realistic to buy Rodarte. It is a bit comparable with H&M and their collaborations with designers. However unlike H&M, the collection of Rodarte is only available at Opening Ceremony. We love the pieces from Rodarte’s collection, the campaign and gorgeous models (twins Gwen and Donna Loos). A pity the Hunters are in NYC in September and the collection is available from October.
