The last show we visited Friday was from Cast Iron. Truth needs to be said, our expectations weren’t very high. It’s a commercial brand, and between all the creative Dutch designs this could be less exciting. However the opposite was proven. Besides all the hysterical screaming sales people in the audience, the show was 100% eyecandy. Cast Iron showed all the important basic pieces, men should have in the wardrobe to create a masculine but fashionable look: coloured chino’s, check shirts, lammy coats, well fitting jackets and heavy knitted cardigans and sweaters. But what made the show, and looks so strong, was the styling. The person who did this, did such an amazing job. The items shown weren’t outrageous or very cutting edge, but styling-wise the show was extremely strong. Here are our favourite styling tips from the show:
1. Roll the trousers just a little bit extra
2. Use a scarf as a hoody
3. Put your belt over your jacket
4. Wear your neckerchief (small scarf) under your blouse or sweater
5. Use popping colours in your accessoires: Yellow socks, green belts, red gloves etc.
Yes, some styling tips we new already, but the show sure did gave us inspiration. The overall theme of the show was ‘knights’. This brought us up some very nice ideas, so the Hunters will be hunting for some shields in the next couple of weeks. One last more compliment for the show: Delicious, rough, masculine models.
