Pisa IJs, Amsterdam
Finally, the sun is shining. A wardrobe switchover, bright coloured nails, summer fragrances, sandals, short skirts, BBQ with friends, dinner in the park and ice-cream. A lot of ice cream!!I think I have a serious problem, I’m addicted. No day is complete without a scoop of ice. I’m subscribed to ice cream parlor het ijscuypje. For those who live in Amsterdam well known. But last Sunday I made a discovery, Pisa IJS. Located in the south of Amsterdam on the Scheldeplein, across RAI. The father of Marco Morelli (Enrico Morelli) opened in 1935 with his two companions(Dino and Guido Pierotti) IJssalon Roma in the East of Amsterdam. So they have over 75 years experience in making hand crafted Italian ice cream. Each season they create More than 60 new flavors of ice cream for endless variety. They only use high quality natural, biological and ecological ingredients. The ice cream is produced with cane sugar instead of beet sugar. The ice cream is rich, they offer a choice of many different flavors, the waffle is cripsy, the price is good and not the mention the size of the scoops are big. Did I made you hungry? I have good news for you, they opened another shop, a huge shop in the area de Pijp. A real Italian atmosphere in the heart of the Pijp with a giant terrace. Amazing news right?! At least for me, because it’s closer to home. But this ice cream is so damn good, I even consider to make that 20 minutes journey to get a ice cream.
