Cafe Germain, Paris

In Paris? Looking for a restaurant? Trendy, but not too expensive? Well, have we got news for you! Go to Germain which is located in, how suprising, Saint Germain. The restaurant is part of the well known Costes Family. Design of the restaurant is done by the architect India Mahdavi. The restaurant is modern, pop-art style, while staying personal and comfortable the same time with the 80ies twist. The most striking part of the restaurant is the yellow statue of a lady dressed in a long coat dressed in high heels, all in yellow. The below part is on the first floor (cafe), and the upper part is on the second floor (VIP area). So this giant lady in her fabulous coat goes right through the roof.

So the design is one reason to come to Germain. Other reason is the price and quality. Between 10 and 17 EURO’s you have a starter, and a main course varies from 19 to 34 EURO. The kitchen is classic and french. Steak tartare, fish & chips but also grilled biological salmon and duck. Good classic and comfortable food, with a modern twist. Just the opposite of the design of the restaurant. Affordable, and still you feel like you are a night on the town. Perfect combination, since you will save money to spend on shopping in the city of fashion.
