FW14 trend report: Sweater mania
Sweaters didn’t use to be part of the international runway shows. However since a few seasons sweaters became real musthave pieces. Kenzo Paris took a leap in this with the ‘tiger sweaters’. As soon as they showed them on the runway all the fashionista’s wanted to have it. This got an extra push after Kenzo gave the recognizable sweaters to the most popular streetstyle icons like Miroslava Duma, Joan Smalls and all the mayor bloggers. Now since two years you see more sweaters than ever before on the runways.
The most popular sweater this season for the fashion forward man is the Obsession sweater of Calvin Klein Collection. Preferably combined with leather pants. The shape of the sweater is oversized with off-hanging shoulders. The fabric makes you look very bulky and masculine. Almost like a superhero.

Another popular sweater for this season is the Flamingo of Paul Smith. Remarkable to see is that most sweaters have a sporty vibe, with big logo’s and a round neck. Kenzo on the opposite goes for less prints and logo’s this fall season, and a turtle neck instead. This season they show knitted turtle necks in bright colors. Hunters’ favorite is this combination of white with bright yellow. Here are some other IT-items, from left to right Neill Barrett, Givenchy and Acne, now available at MrPorter.com .
