It’s a fact, AFW started! The official program will start tonight, but last night Cold Method kicked off with the FW12/13 collection. At 20.30 the Hunters arrived at the Compagnietheater in Amsterdam to attend the show and to celebrate the 5th anniversary of Cold Method. The Hunters are happy to know the designer Dieter de Cock, who previously designed for Viktor & Rolf, quote well so were very curious. After a glass of champagne the fashon crowd was escorted to the theater room, where we had our seats in the stands. This setting was really nice, because everybody had a good view on the show. The room and the decor of the show were a perfect match with the collection. The decors were like a university entrance. The Gentleman Activist, the name of the collection, inspired by the student revolutions of 1986. Students who rebel against the authorities and promote greater social freedom and individualism. A man fighting for his own interests, but despite everything still remains a gentleman. The models were dressed in warm winter colours, like we saw on the runways this week in Milan and Paris. Colours like: burgundy red, hunter green, oger yellow and navy. Like the warm colors, the materials were also really wintry. Tweed, wool, flannel and corduroy passed the schoolyard. De models were acting like French university students, judging from the books they were holding. Well fitting suits, masculine bomber jackets, wax coats and corduroy trousers dominate the collection. Special about the show is that Cold Method choose to scout the models on the street and Facebook instead of casting via model agencies. After the show we celebrated the 5th anniversary while we hit the dancefloor and enjoyed some cocktails. We had a great evening.
