Fashion is fun
That fashion is fun, is proven by the pattern the polka dot. This season one of the biggest trends. The dots rocked the runway of many designers. Marc Jacobs (he even showed the total poldadot look) Stella McCartney and Diane Von Furstenberg ensured that the dot made this huge comeback and became one of the biggest trends for fall 2011. This pattern was in the fifties already a big hit. Do you remember the high-necked dresses with full skirts? The polka dot provided color and optimism after the heavy years of war. This trend is a good example of that fashion is returning through the years. This season the dotty patterns appears in almost every collection and on almost everything, from cocktail dresses, tops, blouses, shorts, to shoes and accessories like socks, bags and hair accessory. What the Hunters like about this pattern is the versatility. Polka dots can be styled in so many different ways and are suitable for every mood. The dot is not only classic and amazingly chic, but they even can be sturdy. They are making every outfit playful. You will never run out of ideas on how to mix and match them. The Hunters noted in NYC already that the dot was a success. We got shot by many photographers, including Fashionologie with our polka dot look. Try and dare to play with this trend. Clash different polka dot patterns in one outfit or if you don’t like the dot that much, show the dot in your accessories. We even discovered after writing this post we have to less dots in our wardrobe. Check out our moodboard, to get inspired.
