Ermenegildo Zegna AW13
We were so lucky to attend the Ermenegildo Zegna AW13 show during Milan Men’s Fashion Week. We were very curious about this show. Knowing that next season the head of design will be Stefano Pilati (former creative director of Yves Saint Laurent), the show was supposed to give some insight of the new direction the brand is going under the umbrella of Pilati. Although the collection was not yet designed by him, the collection sure looked longer. The AW13 collection looked much younger and more with an edge than we are used from Ermenegildo Zegna. The combination of silk, wool, cashmere, alpaca and shaved mink gave the collection the luxury we recognize from Ermenegildo Zegna. The colors were relatively classic (grey, black and green) as we are used from Ermengildo Zegna as well. Surprising were the bulky fur coats, the boxy leather jackets and not to mention the padded vests. We especially liked these more sporty and surprising items. Is this a hint of the new direction Ermenegildo Zegna is going to? We can’t wait to see the SS14 show this summer! Here are our favorite looks of the show.
