Emporio Armani, FW 2012-2013
One of my (Hunter Niels) favourite brands for years is Armani. Obviously the more I work in fashion, the more designers I get to know and the more I experience with my style lots of other designers are on top of my mind during seasons. However Armani is always in the back of my mind. The style of Armani in general is very constant, Italian and wearable.
We were so lucky to attend the Emporio Armani show during Milan Fashion Week. Although Emporio Armani is so typically Italian, the show and collection reminded us the most of a chic night on the town in Paris. All models wore flat shoes, mostly loafers and caps. Models didn’t walk the runway one by one and up and down the catwalk, but came in pairs and walked of the runway right in front of the photographers. Velvet, fur, tweed and satin were the main fabrics used in the fall/winter collection. The color palette consisted of deep blue, red, black and grey. And here and there a polcadot was shown. The most outstanding item was the knee-length shorts which was shown a lot during the show and combined with many different kind of jackets. From short parka’s to classic tweeds and hairy colourful furs.
