Electric Brasserie, London
Sunday brunch is something which is not so familiar in the Netherlands, but in the UK a big happening! On Sunday every one comes together for Sunday roast, or Sunday brunch. From origin Sunday Roast is a traditional British main meal served on Sundays (usually in the early afternoon for lunch), consisting of roasted meat, roast potato or mashed potato, with accompaniments such as Yorkshire pudding, stuffing, vegetables and gravy. I (Hunter Niels) lived in London for a while and loved this get together. However roasted meat, potato’s and gravy is maybe a little bit too much for me. The hotspot I liked to go for Sunday brunch was Electric on Portobello road, in Nothing Hill. Electric is a cinema and a private members club, but they also have a brasserie. The menu in the brasserie is very diverse. From roasts till risotto, from salads till eggs and from oysters till croque monsieurs. The interior is very classic, and the crowd is young and trendy. Electric is the perfect spot to catch up with your friends about the crazy Saturday night, drink a Bloody Mary to get over the hangover, and to gain strength with a delicious meal.
