De Gouverneur, Curacao
I (Hunter Niels) used to go pretty often to Curacao. One of the main reasons to visit Curacao was how easy it was to go diving. Curacao is beautiful when it comes to scuba diving. Good thing is, at many spots you could just go scuba dive right from the coast. So you don’t need to go via a boat. This saves lot’s of time, so there is more time to spend on the beach after diving. Another reason for us to visit Curacao is the wide range of good restaurants. One of our all time favourites in Curacao is De Gouverneur. De Gouverneur is located on the waterside, and looks upon ‘de pontjesbrug’ (floating bridge). On the other side of the water you see the typical coloured houses from Willemstad. This is like the skyline from Curacao and at the Gouverneur you have a perfect view on this from the balcony, where most of the tables are located. The menu is pretty basic with spareribs, steaks, quasadillas, garlic shrimps and grilled salmon. However they also have a wide range of daily specials. Good quality food, beautiful view and the tropical climate, what more could you wish.
