Chelsea Market, New York City

There are some amazing restaurants in New York City. Each day a new one opens its doors. However the real hotspots of New York City are the streets itself. That’s where the adventures and creativity is happening. When you are in New York City it’s a waste to sit inside, you want to be out and about. That’s why we were so happy when we spotted this place.

We were walking down the streets of Meatpacking district but couldn’t decide to which restaurant we wanted to go. So many choice. And actually we didn’t want to spend too much money and spend most of the times on the streets, to see everybody pass by. So we could go for the terrace of The Standard or Pastis for example. However we saw this chairs standing in front of the terraces, which didn’t seem to be part of the restaurants. These happen to be from the city itself and just a place to hang out and have your own food. So we went to Chelsea Market, which is right next to the Apple store in Meatpacking district. Chelsea Market is an indoor street market with several different take-away places. From pizza to burgers, from salads to bagels and from organic tea to a diet coke. You could get it all at Chelsea Market. It’s fresh, high quality and affordable.

And the good thing is you could just take the food and have it on the free terraces in meatpacking. It feels like you are on a terrace of some restaurant, but than with your own food. Best of both worlds right? Besides the terraces you could also take your food to the high line, which is a former metro line above the ground, on which they made lounge chairs. A perfect way to spend your afternoon and safe money in the big city.
