Camper Spui, Amsterdam
Camper is a typical mediterrane brand. The brand’s origin are in Mallorca, Spain. When you are in Barcelona or Madrid you will see the shops on every corner of the street. The stores always stand out, and none of the stores is the same. Unique thing about Camper is the collaborations they have with other designers. Bernhard Willhelm, Romain Kremer and Veronique Branquinho are examples of designers who design shoes for Camper. However the collaboration goes beyond just only shoes. Camper’s stores are also part of the Together concept. Examples of designers who showed their creativity and experience in the Camper stores are: Bouroullec Brothers, Jamie Hayon and Michele de Lucchi. The last one designed the new store in Amsterdam on the Spui, corner Kalverstraat. In the store you see the unmistakable Hallmark of Memphis design, a legendary group of designers whose use bright colours and patterns in furniture made a vibrant splash in the 1980’s design world. “Memphis inspired” is a joined tribute by Camper and Michele de Lucchi dedicated to the memory of that upbeat, avant-garde movement. Hunters really like this new store. First of all it brightens up the Kalverstraat. Second point why we like the store so much is the variety of collections the store offers. In contrast to the store at Leidsestraat, the store at the Spui has the super cute kids collection, and the more fashion forward ‘together’ collection.
