Bora Aksu, Autumn/Winter 2012
The first show we attended during London Fashion Week was Bora Aksu. For us a new designer. Obviously we were very excited to go in the tents of London Fashion Week for the first time. The rush of adrelaline you get, when seeing so many well dressed people, photographers, stressed out PR people and all of this is a strange but amazing experience each time. The show of Bora Aksu
was all about lace. He used enlarged prints of lace in all of his Autumn Winter pieces. Sometimes more subtile, and otherwise full frontal. Combining this with ribbons and romantic soft colours made the complete look, look very romantic. One of our favourite pieces was the knitted skirt and top that came on first. The top with the knitted bow-tie, and the skirt in combination of grey and soft pink made a good look. To spice up the complete collection, Bora Aksu used besides the soft pinks and greys some hot pink, bright red and orange, and black pieces to finish. Overall a very mature, classic and romantic show. A good and surprising start for the edgy and raw vibe in London.
