It will take only a few more weeks and I’m so happy. On August 31st Weekday will open the doors of their first Dutch shop on Rokin 84 in Amsterdam. We are really excited, but now we have a few more weeks to save some money. Eventhough the prices are very affordable. The problem is, we want to buy the entire collection. Last Friday we were invited to see a sneak preview of the Weekday collections at the Schoon den Boer showroom. While enjoying a healthy breakfast, we got informed about the brand.
It all started in November 2000 when Örjan Andersson, Adam Friberg and two of their friends opened a small second hand store in a Stockholm suburb. The store was called Weekend because it was only open during the weekend on Saturdays and Sundays. Two years later they opened their second store, open every day of the week: Weekday. From the very beginning Weekday carried high fashion brands mixed with smaller independent fashion brands as well as second hand clothing. Once we finished breakfast we got the opportunity to browse through the collections and to take some pictures. I have to admit, I wasn’t too familiar with Weekday, but as of last Friday I’m a huge fan. The collections are very wearable and basic, but also very outstanding thanks to the fabrics and designs. The clothing combines high fashion with influences from street fashion and subcultures. What we also really like about the clothing is that almost all of the designs are unisex. Ideal for the Hunters, to create a Hunter match.
