A golden oldie in men’s grooming
Men keep spending more on beauty products. And I (Hunter Niels) understand why. More and more beautiful beauty brands for men are available. Recently I discovered this brand Baxter of California. However this doesn’t mean it’s a new brand. Baxter was founded in 1965 by a Baxter Finley who realized the hot Californian sun had a bad influence on his skin. The former advertiser launched Super Shape, skin care just for men. So no pink or floral bottles anymore. The moisturizer was a huge hit, so he came with more products: Skin Toner, Night cream, Eye Cream. This was the first men’s grooming line. It became the grooming product for all the playboys from the US. In 2000 Baxter got the Playboy status himself as result of the success and he sold the company to a family friend. This resulted in a new look and feel of the product. Today Baxter of California has a new look and feel, new cutting-edge men’s products that target very specific skincare needs, and improved formulations that combine the trusted traditions of science with fine ingredients with nature.
I tried the Daily Face Wash. To start with I really like the shape and design of the bottle. It’s masculine and handy. The Face Wash hasn’t a very strong smell, but after washing my skin felt fresh, clean and smooth. It cleans the skin without making the skin dry. The Face Wash is for every day use, however I use it twice a day which is possible as well. However do make sure you hydrate your skin enough. For example with a good moisturizer.
And why not a moisturizer from Baxter? Each time I see myself on pictures I get annoyed by my shiny skin. However with the Oil Free Moisturizer this is way less. It’s a natural hydrating technology, which has a mat finish. The moisturizer hydrates and protects the skin. However as result of the mat finish I look less like a disco ball on pictures.
Products from Baxter are available via Cosmania.
